How to use Follower Protection
Follower Protection makes sure your followers never stay in a trade your leader isn't in. It catches cases where orders fail to copy, brokers are delayed, or you trade manually on a follower.
What it does
Follower Protection steps in in two situations:
1. Your leader goes flat, but a follower doesn't
When your leader's position goes to 0 and a follower is still in a trade, Tradesyncer pauses copying and flattens all accounts on that symbol, including the leader, and cancels their open orders. This makes sure no account is left with a leftover position or an open order that could fill later.
2. A follower opens a position while your leader is flat
If a follower ends up in a position while your leader has none, for example from a manual trade or an old order that filled, Tradesyncer closes that follower's position.
Example
Your leader and follower both open 5 contracts.
You manually close 2 on the follower, so it now holds 3.
Your leader closes all 5 and is flat.
Follower Protection sees the follower still holds 3, and flattens all accounts.
Delay
You can set how long Tradesyncer waits before stepping in: 1 to 3 seconds, in the cockpit. A longer delay gives normal copying more time to catch up first.
