Role Overview
Tradesyncer is looking for a part-time Financial Controller to take ownership of our financial operations as we scale our SaaS and fintech ecosystem.
You’ll cover reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, Stripe revenue reconciliation, and all accounting processes — ensuring financial clarity across the company.
This is a high-impact role with 16-24 hours per week to start, with the possibility to grow into a larger position as the company scales.
You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team in a fast-moving, young, and collaborative environment. We’re based in Amsterdam but operate fully remote — though it’s always a bonus if you’re able to join us in person every now and then. We’re a small, focused team that enjoys working together, building fast, and having fun while doing it.
Experience in SaaS or subscription-based financial operations is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Track and analyse ARR/MRR, churn, margins, cash flow, and SaaS KPIs.
Build simple, reliable dashboards the leadership team can use daily.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Own the budgeting cycle and financial planning.
Build forecasts and scenario models supporting product and growth decisions.
Monitor cash flow and ensure financial discipline as we scale.
Accounting, Compliance & Tools
Responsible for all bookkeeping activity using Moneybird.
Reconcile Stripe payments, subscription revenue, refunds, fees, affiliate payouts, and partner flows.
Maintain clean ledgers, accurate expense tracking, and compliant invoicing.
Ensure compliance with Dutch accounting rules and international SaaS tax structures.
International SaaS Tax & Compliance
Maintain strong awareness of international digital/SaaS tax obligations, including:
EU VAT for digital services
MOSS/OSS
Reverse charge rules
Global SaaS tax trends
Coordinate smoothly with external accountants to ensure everything is filed on time.
Managing External Accountants
Lead, coordinate, and chase external accountants to keep financials fully up to date.
Ensure deadlines are met and documentation is always audit-ready.
Implement structured workflows to ensure consistent, accurate bookkeeping.
Process Ownership
Create and optimise internal workflows for payments, invoices, approvals, and reporting.
Oversee year-end closing and statutory reports.
Build financial clarity in a way that scales with the company.
Revenue & Cost Monitoring
Track operational costs (servers, APIs, affiliates, SaaS tools, marketing).
Analyse revenue across subscription tiers and product lines.
Identify cost efficiencies and opportunities.
Strategic Support
Support pricing strategy and new product financial modelling.
Prepare investor-ready financial summaries when needed.
Provide leadership with insights and scenario planning.
Required Skills & Experience
4–7+ years as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant.
Strong understanding of SaaS financials, subscription revenue, and international tax rules.
Experience with Moneybird.
Experience with Stripe revenue and payout reconciliation.
Clear understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR/MRR, churn, retention, LTV/CAC).
Experience working with bookkeeping partners and keeping them accountable.
Highly organised, proactive, and accurate.
Ability to work independently and build structure in a young, fast-moving company.
Strong communication skills and ability to translate data into action.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with SaaS analytics or financial automation.
Understanding of global regulations affecting subscription platforms.
Startup or scale-up experience.
