How do bracket orders get copied within Tradesyncer?

TP and SL behaviour per platform

Tip: Turn on Follower Protection to stay protected in rare edge cases.

What's supported

Tradesyncer copies bracket orders: an entry with one take profit (TP) and one stop loss (SL).

Not supported yet: multi-bracket, stop limit orders, trailing stops, auto breakeven and auto trail. Regular stop orders work normally.

How your bracket is copied

It depends on your leader's and follower's platforms:

Full bracket

  • Full bracket: entry, TP and SL are copied right away.

  • Entry first: the entry is copied right away, the TP and SL once it fills.

  • Separate orders: like Entry first, but the TP and SL are two separate orders. When one fills, Tradesyncer cancels the other.

  • Market Execution: nothing is copied while pending. The follower enters and exits with market orders, and has no TP or SL on its own account.

These differences come from what each platform's API allows.

Changing orders

Moving, cancelling or dragging your entry to fill on the leader is copied to your followers, including updated TP and SL prices.

Note: if you add a TP and SL to an entry that hasn't filled yet, Tradovate and DxFeed followers receive them once the entry fills. This is a platform limitation.
