ProjectX now supports two different types of bracket orders. Both are useful for managing risk and locking in profits, but they work in different ways. It’s important to understand the difference so you can choose the right one for your trading style.
1. Position Brackets (Original Bracket Style)
How it works:
You set a Take-Profit (TP) and Stop-Loss (SL) in dollar values.
Once your position entry is filled, the system automatically creates one TP and one SL order.
These orders update automatically as your position changes.
Key features:
Tied to your overall position, not individual entry orders.
One TP and one SL per position.
Always based on dollar values from the current position.
Great for simple, overall position management.
2. Auto-OCO Brackets (New Bracket Style)
How it works:
Works like bracket orders on most trading platforms.
You can set TP and SL based on ticks or dollars from your entry price.
Brackets are created as suspended orders and become working orders once the entry fills.
When one side of the bracket is filled, the other is automatically cancelled (OCO = One Cancels Other).
Key features:
Tied to individual entry orders, not the overall position.
Can be configured in dollars or ticks (support for points and % is scheduled for future release).
Each entry order can have its own bracket setup.
Suitable for scaling out of positions with multiple entries.
Important Notes for Copy Trading
If you are using Position Brackets:
Keep them enabled only for the leader account.
Tradesyncer will copy the TP/SL behavior to all followers automatically.
If you are using Auto-OCO Brackets:
You must enable Auto-OCO Brackets on the leader account.
On all follower accounts, brackets must be turned off.
The correct way to do this is:
Go to the follower’s settings.
Switch the bracket type to Position Brackets.
Do not set up any TP or SL values.
Leave them blank so that no bracket is active on the follower.
This ensures Tradesyncer will copy the leader’s Auto-OCO brackets correctly, without creating duplicates.
🚨 Never enable the ProjectX internal copier while using Tradesyncer.
This will cause conflicts and duplicate orders.
